To paint the picture- it was Saturday night of War at the Shore Weekend, and the entire team was lighting the Osprey dancefloor on fire when an idea came to one of the guys: what if we just had a tried and true boys night?
No one even speaks to girls; just enjoy being out with friends, new and old.
I am in media tech for a living, exploring new trends and solutions in national news. The mainstream has adopted podcasts over the last five years. The ability to create, produce, and monetize is surprisingly easy. An idea sprouted as a creative exercise to learn podcasting software, execute one a week with a friend, and find an easy topic. The result is Pops Pint, two friends talking about fatherhood over a beer. Easy to procrastinate a text. Harder to ignore a podcast invite. So do me a favor, grab headphones, crack a beer, sit back, hit play on Pops Pint, and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Podcasts as I discuss "City living during Covid" with my friend, Mr. CJ Greene.
You hear coaches like Nick Saban of Alabama say they like to recruit multi-sport athletes. Exposure to different age groups, skill sets, and backgrounds enhances competition and can fill up some buckets of athletic development that may have been empty prior.
Now, as we await confirmation that the European Championships will be held this summer, we are once again coming together to make sure we bring our best to Poland.
People work for the weekend, so they can relax and wind down after a long monotonous work week. They just finished working 5 days and 40 hours of shuffling papers, staring at the computer, a classroom full of kids, or making their last sales call. The weekend sounds good right about now, with nothing to worry about and being able to sit back and relax. Happy hour with boys or a girls night out with the ladies, these are days to rest up and recover. This is where my trip to Hartsfield-Jackson Airport comes in and the real fun work begins.
Over the years, I’ve shot 40,000+ sport images, sit on the board of Puerto Rico Lacrosse as VP and Director of Media, sat on the sidelines of NCAA lacrosse championships, shot International lacrosse tournaments, college regular season and of course high school and club lacrosse.
We’ve been given the opportunity to continue playing the greatest game on the greatest team in the greatest city. It’s not widely known that the name Gotham, a nickname for New York, means “Goat Town”.
To us, jump training is a tripod. The first leg focuses on improving lower extremity power. The second leg focuses on improving what we call “The Bounce” (which we will get into later). The last leg focuses on mobility/injury prevention techniques.
Similar to the World Games, the Orlando Invitational will have national team play. However, I want to mix in US based teams of various levels for boys & girls at the U16, U18, U20, and Sr. Women’s & Men’s.
It’s a special bond amongst those who have to wrangle the heard of degenerate club players and organizing events with others similar.
Thinking of names “Los Aztecas” was one of the first ones I thought of and instantly knew the warrior culture of those people would lend perfectly to the sport of lacrosse. After this conversation I couldn’t stop thinking of all the endless possibilities.
